Opportunity Project

Last week I went to a Fundraiser for Opportunity Project(OP). It was called an Evening to Ensure the Future. OP is a Clubhouse Program Empowering People with a Brain Injury. Mrs. Lisa Goldman, and her partner, co-founded OP. Her son, Dan, was my very first "cancer" friend; he was treated for a malignant BT in 1987 and he's still here today. OP is a huge success now!

The event was at the NJ PAC (Performing Arts Center) in Newark. It featured Michael Feinstein, a 5 time Grammy Nominee. Also singers Christine Ebersole, Debbie Gravitte, and Michelle Lee sang. Bowl XX! co-captain & former VP of AXA Sports Financial Services at AXA Equitable George Martin was there. He won an award for Advocacy on Behalf of Brain Injury Awareness and Prevention.

Christine Ebersole has an extensive acting & singing background: she was in Saturday Night Live, One Life to Life, Will & Grace, Ally McBeal, Samantha Who, the Colbert Report, Royal Pains, and will co-star in "Retired at 35" in Jan. 2011. She was on stage in Three Sisters, Talking Heads, Oklahoma!, and Camelot.

Debbie Gravitte- won Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in Jerome Robbin's Broadway. Also was on Broadway in They're Playing our Song, Perfectly Frank, etc. Stared on the CBS Series Trial & Error and NBC's Pursuit of Happiness. Recently finished latest CD, Defying Gravity.

Michelle Lee acted in Emmy-Nominated Role in Knotts Landing. She also acted as Rosemary in the original How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Disney's The Love Bug, and Along Came Polly.
