I am a survivor of 2 cancers (oral and breast) and in fact the only reason I know I have a meningioma is it was an incidental finding that showed up during a followup screening to check for recurrence of the oral cancer--where they MRI'd by brain instead of my neck by mistake! It's apparently the size of a big olive but does not seem to be causing any symptoms at all and, based on two years of ollowup MRIs, is not growing at all. Meanwhile I have had a couple of recurrence scares for the oral and breast cancers (both were scares, not recuurences, thankfully. So far I remain cancer free as far as anyone knows) so the meningioma, which is benign and not growing, has not been a big worry for me (or at least it has been sent to the back of the line of big worries)..
What state or country are you located in?
I would like to know more about other people's stories. I'm hoping I don't have to have surgery for this ever but it is always good to see how other people navigate surgery just in case I do have to.
