Comment by Shelby Melton RNS on December 31, 2012 at 4:44am I imagine it is a lot of work! I have been doing a lot of proactive educating lately :) Seems to help. I have found that well written material provided is better for me so that I do not become too emotional. This is even getting a little better since I have had the chance to speak with you about it. Like I said before, I don't feel like the monster in my own head ;) Thank you for all you are doing!
Comment by Beth Rosenthal on December 25, 2012 at 11:24pm Hi Shelby. I've tried getting on more mainstream shows but, it's a lot of work. IJB just hired a marketing rep. Maybe she can help. After years of being angry about everything, I've learned that people need to be educated. If possible, whenever you get flack, try educating the ignorant. Practice what you can say, and then you'll be ready whenever you really need it.
Comment by Shelby Melton RNS on December 22, 2012 at 5:18am Nicely done. How appreciative we are as fellow-benigners (ha ha!) that you had the courage to do this. I wish they would do a nice informative piece on one of the mainstream news shows, like Good Morning America or something, that people have to take notice of. I've come to realized how ignorant even healthcare workers are regarding this type of thing. As a Registerd Nurse I get a lot of flack from some of my colleagues, who SHOULD be well aware and highly educated, because I struggle at work at times. It is very frustrating, to say the least.

Wow, this is my story too....! OMG! I can picture me in front of that Mic talking about this!
